Next show: with Lara Eilhardt at Baked & Wired, a great coffee shop & space near the canal in Georgetown, Washington, DC, Friday, August 29, from 7-8:30pm. Free. We’ll preview a band I am putting together with Scott Charney, Emily Crockett and Ben O’Donnell.
This Thursday I’ll play my first show in South Africa at Cape Town’s Breakwater Lodge, 6pm. The show is part of the Open A.I.R. / Global Congress events exploring health, development and creativity in Africa. Join us for drinks followed by a screening of the Sundance-selected film “Fire in the Blood.”
On November 23rd, Lara Eilhardt and I return for our third show at Ebenezer’s, a comfortable coffeehouse near Union Station in Washington DC. The show will be free, and begin I believe around 7pm at 201 F Street NE.
I will play the Hanoi Social Club (Viet Nam) this coming Sunday, Oct 13. I have a new song which features some Hanoi imagery.
This was our second show at Ebenezer’s, and for the second time it was standing room only.
Lara invited her sister Corey to play with her, which was heartwarming.
I debuted a pair of new songs: “Meet Me in the Middle” and “Star Field Below.”
Ali Sternburg played piano on “Dear, Silence” and “The Hard Path to Peace,” as welll as a pair of her original songs.
We played in the coffee shop — which is relatively spacious and elegant itself — but the staff asked if we would return to play the concert hall downstairs.
We hope to do so later this fall.
I would call it a successful night.
