(cc) 2006, Unquiet Records | Produced by J. Robbins | UNQCD 01
Passengers, my first record, is a primarily acoustic narrative recorded with J. Goody at Megasonic in West Oakland, CA. While in law school at Berkeley, Garrett Wright and I formed Last Clear Chance, an indie trio playing fast and electric material with percussionist Steve Mason. Seeking an outlet for quieter songs I’d written on Spanish guitar, I made Passengers in 2006 under a routine of moderate solitude near the bay and trains. I recorded soundscapes from around northern California to draw out a theme of impermanence, as personal narrative and rising social challenge. I’m pleased to say Passengers has earned the affection of many careful listeners.
